About

A widow is the last line of a paragraph, stranded alone at the top of a new page. An orphan is the first line, left behind at the bottom of the old one. Typesetters spend whole careers chasing them out of books. We named a shirt company after them, which tells you most of what you need to know about us.

Widow & Orphan makes shirts for people who write. Novelists and half-finished novelists, poets, memoirists, editors, and everyone in the writing group who swears this is the year. Some designs are jokes only a writer would get. Some are for the genre you write in. All of them are made for the desk, the signing table and the 2 a.m. rewrite.

Every shirt is designed in Kentucky and printed when you order it, on a soft Bella+Canvas tee.

Now go write something.
